Sticking to your work out routine is a good way of ensuring constant development. But what to do if machines (and weights stations) you need are busy, causing unplanned breaks to your routine and ruining your training? Today I’ll share few tips on how to make sure you always get a chance to perform exercise you want on a busy gym:
- Ask the person who is using a machine to share it with you. If there is already more than one person using it stay in a queue. Probably one or two people in the queue will be fed up quickly and resign from using it.
- When approaching free-weight-station, offer your help as a spotter. Not only you will get a chance to use an equipment, but also you will get a spotter, as a spotted person will return the favour.
- When using one machine walk towards another, show your interest. Other gym members will see your intention and think about you as a next in the queue.
- When performing an exercise on one machine leave your staff by another (only if it is still free). Many gym members will skip that machine thinking someone is already using it.
- Use different weight than another person who uses the machine. He will get fed up with often weight changing and machine will be yours.
- Chose the machine on which you can see a person much weaker than you. Beginners do not like to work out with advanced gym members, as they feel overwhelmed. Soon machine will be yours.
- Talk to opposite sex gym member who uses “your” station. She/he will free the station if not interested in you. In worse scenario you have got a date.

Easy to say, gym people are very pushy. Older their are more pushy they are! And in my case - I am just a beginner, it’s hard to find someone weaker then me, lol. Anyway good tips, hope I will be able to use some on Monday…
