To burn excessive fat you need to make some exercises. The best way is to do a lot of fast moves that bring you and your body plenty of oxygen. As you might already know without oxygen there’s no fire, no fire no burn. Every fire-fighter can tell you that.
The easiest way to make that kind of exercise is running. The only costs you bear are your precious time and some persistence. Unfortunately there’s another one. Your joints. All because your muscles are not powerful enough to lift weights or weight of your body. But you can help your body protect joints. You could resign from doing exercises but it is not your goal. Your goal is to maintain or even more speed up burning fat. So, what are you suppose to do if you can not run? Ride a bike. It would be better to do it outdoor but you can try riding exercise one. You can also go swimming etc. That also goes to typical weightlifting. There might be couple of exercises that are completely unnatural for your body. I know that your gym-mate can tell you that the exercise, that he does, is the best in the world and it brings huge benefits but If you can not do it you simply don’t. Do something else but please, don’t stop! OK, so what to do if it still hurts?
There are few different solutions. They may be used separately or be combined. It’s actually up to you. If you have problems with joints, obviously there’s something wrong either with your organism or, hopefully, with your diet. Yes, now I’ll tell you what to do.
First of all visit a doctor, especially when you got injured. An orthopaedist is the best choice. If not you might end with some pain-killers in your pocket or with an advice saying: “stop doing what causes the problem”. This is not what anyone expects. Either way there’s a chance you’ll ensure yourself that everything is fine. If not, sorry we can not help you.
Apart form going to a doctor there are few other ways. Most of them is taking pills.
- Glucosamine (sulphate)- this specific is useful in regeneration of joints also after injuries. It stimulates rebuilt of cartilage for more mobility and flexibility. It almost does not exist in normal food that’s why it is necessary to eat supplements. Quite often can be bought with addition of chondroitine (sulphate). The recommended daily allowance is about 1500mg which is about two or three tablets a day. You should take them during a meal. The most important thing to take glucosamine for about six to eight weeks minimum(!). Many people don’t do it and that’s why they have joint problems all the time. It’s almost sure that it will not help your shoulders but it is likely to help knees and ,almost sure, will help your elbows.
- Collagen - usually sold in hydrolysed form. It’s made for people who exercise a lot and are very likely, by overweighting their joints, to became injured. It can be also used to regenerate cartilages and tendons. Its RDA is about 6000mg what usually gives about six tablets a day, eaten on an empty stomach. Collagen is also very useful for skin, nails and hair so you can tell about it your girlfriend. It should be taken from three up to about seven months.
- Jelly - yes, you should eat more jelly. All because the gelatine which is full of collagen. And collagen is about 30% of all proteins in the body, especially situated in joints, tendons and ligaments. So every time you want something sweet eat jelly or gummy bears. It’s not only great, natural source of collagen but also a delicious dessert.
- Cod/shark liver oil - I know that this one does not sound nice but it works. No worries it can be bought in capsules. Liver oil promotes joints and skin because it is full of vitamins A and D as well as brain and heart as it is full of healthy EPA, DHA and Omega 3 fatty acids. Usually it is sold as softgel capsules which should be taken one a day.
- Vitamin C - beside the all known fact of increasing immunity it occurs it also helps with your bones. It should be taken for about a week then two weeks break and again. And the dose should be around 1 - 1.5g a day. Some people say that it is better to take 3g a day until all symptoms are gone but it can lead to lithiasis. Also useful to take vitamins A (up to 400mg a day) and E (from 400mg a day).

You forgot about MSM. Anyway good you put it here…
Good to know. I used to use glucosamine every time my wrists hurt me. After two days it stopped and I stopped taking pills as well. Did’nt know you should take it longer.
Many useful information. I think collagen is the best.
